I dance to impress upon others the healing power of movement, to honor those who have worked with this art form before me, and to express that which cannot otherwise be understood.

As a choreographer and instructor it’s important for me to push the boundaries of what others in the field are doing, while still remaining true to the work of our dance ancestors. The ideal piece of choreography shows reference to the teachings and techniques of the past, while adding a modern flare so as to further our exploration of movement. Technique is paramount to all else, with passion and performance quality falling in closely behind it.

I can teach someone how to hold their body in alignment, how to lift their leg to its highest extension, and how to land a clean pirouette. It is up to the dancer to find desire, drive, and that special sparkle which can only exist in a truly motivated individual.

No single dancer knows all there is to know about the world we live in, and every dancer - old, young, trained, untrained – has something to contribute to the tight knit circle of dancers that exists here.
